This recording is a double CD containing 35 old-time (Appalachian) traditional tunes played three ways over approximately 150 minutes: (1.) simply and at a very slow tempo; (2.) at a modest tempo but with chords, drones and other ornamentation; (3.) fully up-to-tempo. The CDs are playable on any CD player. On the second CD, there are PDFs of full transcriptions with bowings of each tune, as well as a discussion of bowing and other techniques.
